Shelley Taggart is a leading professional in the field of conflict resolution and has been providing mediation services for fourteen years. Shelley has helped hundreds of parties come to resolution in matters including: high conflict divorce; workplace conflict resulting from the posttraumatic effects of strike action; and parent/child conflict when parents transition in sexual orientation. Shelley's area of specialization is in the formulation of parenting plans. In addition to her private practice, Shelley is a contract mediator with Alberta Justice for the Custody Mediation Program and she was part of the Alberta Justice pilot project for Child Protection Mediation.

Shelley first established her private mediation practice in 1996 after many years as a therapist with McConnell Psychological Services. Shelley is a Registered Family Mediator with the Alberta Family Mediation Society (AFMS). She is a former president of AFMS and served on the board of that organization for ten years. Shelley is founder and owner of the Edmonton Mediation Centre.
